Welcome to the YEDOENSIS official weblog page. Through this site, you
will be participating as a virtual visitor to the NIU art museum, and
you can also check each progress of Ayomi Yoshida's installation work
"YEDOENSIS" on time. Updated information will be released from art crew
of this project, or even from Ayomi, the artist.
First comment in today's post! Seeing these pictures is just like taking a trip down the flowery meadows of Japan's cherry blossom fields. Keep up the good work! We all can't wait to see it when it's finished.
Today Ayomi and I had the opportunity to preview a film that will augment our concurrent exhibit of modern (20th century) Japanese prints. The film, from the late 1950s, contains footage of Ayomi’s parents working together on a large print. In that moment, the connection of Yedoensis to the past became quite palpable; but also its originality and inventiveness - and relevance to its own time and place.
